5 First Date Must-dos

There are no real rules of dating anymore. The three day rule is a bunch of crap, people find love online, and it probably won't ruin a relationship if you reveal too much on a first date. While this all may be true, that doesn't mean we're free of all nervousness and anxiety while getting to know this new person. Just remember to be yourself and focus on these must-dos for a first date.
Do offer to pay
We should never assume that a guy is going to pay for a first date. And why should he? You're just getting acquainted and it certainly isn't the norm anymore that men always make more money than women. If you're just getting to know someone, splitting the bill is always a good way to go. If he insists, it's completely fine to accept.
Do avoid filler words like "like"
If you're peppering your whole conversation with "likes," " kinds," and "umms" your date will likely get distracted. It also doesn't show him what an intelligent, well-spoken person you are. This is a good thing to work on in general, so start trying to cut out those words now!
Do make sure there is a balance of you and him topics.
If you notice you've been talking about yourself quite a bit, make sure to turn the conversation back to him. If you talk about yourself the whole time, he's going to think you're conceited, but if he talks about himself the whole time, he's going to feel like you're boring. Keep the conversation flowing back and forth as naturally as you can.
Do order a safe and easy to eat food option.
I'm not saying you shouldn't order something you really want, but the last thing you want to be on a date is uncomfortable in any way. That means avoiding spicy food in case it's too spicy or pasta dishes that test your fork-twirling skills. You want to focus on your date not your dish.
Do stick to a 2 drink maximum.
You want to represent the best version of yourself on a date and you probably aren't doing that past drink two. You want to remember all aspects of your date and sometimes things can get fuzzy after too many cocktails. With your inhibitions lowered, you're also more likely to sleep with a guy on the first date. Sip your drinks slowly and enjoy!
