Senior Java Architect
Bay Area, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Description
We are seeking a Senior Java Architect who has a passion for building world-class websites for large audiences on desktop and mobile. This position requires a deep understanding of design patterns and the Spring technology stack. The architect will model technical design from business requirements and team/peer feedback as well as lead technical execution. This architect will collaborate with their peers to define Java best practices and patterns across the company.
Responsibilities
§ Solution architecture for new web features and products.
§ Lead feature technical implementation.
§ Responsible for product measurement and health after deployment.
§ Research spikes to discover implementation options for requirements that require new patterns or technology.
§ Manage the balance of effort between technology evolution & maintenance and new feature delivery.
§ Collaborate with other teams to ensure shared best practices are maintained across teams.
§ Participate as a resident team member on an agile product delivery team
Required
§ This position does require 6+ years web development experience.
§ This position does require 2+ years as a lead web developer with a backend focus.
§ The ideal candidate should have 1+ years experience with the full Spring Java framework (MVC, Batch, Security, Web Flow, etc.)
§ This position does require strong communication skills in order to professionally socialize best practices.
§ The ideal candidate should have agile development methodology experience.
§ This position does require Mathematics, Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
Qualifications
§ The ideal candidate should have experience implementing the typical Model, DAO, Service, Controller pattern using Spring, Hibernate and MySQL.
§ Experience designing and creating REST and XML-based web services.
§ Maven and SVN experience required.
§ Experience with caching and handling web request processing at scale.
§ Experience implementing large scale Solr search installations a plus.
§ The ideal candidate should have Selenium and test automation experience.
