*Be part of Chayn ki Bansuri*

Please make my project Chayn ki bansuri a success by particpating in airing
the music at midnight 26/27 October 2013. The whole city should be filled
with the sound!
Turn up your radios, download the music, put the speakers in your windows
so the sound can carry far and wide. Please forward to as many people as
possible.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

* *Living in Karachi is living with fear. It has become such an integral
part of our lives that we do not even realize we fear. We lock the doors of
our house, our cars, pay street chowkidars, pay protection money, accept
that our phones will be stolen, that our kids may be kidnapped and we may
have to pay a ransom, get to know the thugs of our area and avoid eye
contact with them. We take detours when a road is closed due to a
demonstration, a recent incident of target killing, a bomb blast, or 'VIP
movement' . This has become a reflex action we don't spend too much time
thinking about. The rest of the time we go to work, eat out, go to relax at
sea view, go to school or college or university, shop, steal electricity
and water, fall in love, quarrel, fall ill, get better, watch movies,
attend weddings and funerals, celebrate Eid.

There seems to be little we can do about the times we live in. At night
when we return to the relative safety of our homes, we try to erase the
tensions of the day so we can let sleep take over and rest enough to face
another day.

*Chayn ki Bansuri* accepts this helplessness to change our lives, but
attempts to help us unwind, forget for a few moments and fall asleep
peacefully.

At midnight of Saturday 26/Sunday 27 October 2013, all FM radio stations
are requested to play these few minutes of music composed and performed by
Muzaffer Hussain. The music will also be downloadable on soundcloud.com
https://soundcloud.com/house-of-music-1/chayn-ki-bansuri-2013 and net users
are requested to turn their speakers to their windows and play the music.
Volunteers will drive around the city playing this music on their car
radios or CDs. The whole city will be enveloped under the spell of peace
for a few moments.

Comments and videos of the event captured by participants may be shared on:
