Masha Allah it is great and Allah will reward you for the genuineness of your thought and advice.
As I too was present at the last AGM, we need to avoid such unpleasantness in the future. We need to identify and eliminate the root cause of it.
As we have reviewed and identified the problem and we are sure all will agree. Hence we should eliminate them by rectifying the constitution. Insha Allah
The major problems, in addition to others, are:

1. Proxy
2. No transparency
3. Membership is restricted and the fee is too low
4. All communities are not properly represented
5. Lack of strategic plan for the future of the Foundation
   
6. Talents of the youth and the young professionals are not properly utilized
7. Lack of fear of Allah(Taqwa)

Having identified the obvious problems the new Majlis has to overcome with the support of the congregation

Our suggestions are:

1. Proxy - It has to be eliminated completely  or restrict to two, the most per member
2. Transparency - As it is an Amanah and public institution all minutes and transaction has to be posted in the notice board and the website. This way any unforeseen difficulties and problems can be brought to the notice of the Majlis which can be rectified
3. Membership is restricted and the fee is too low - Open up the membership to all those who attend the daily prayers and Friday prayers. Increase the membership fee to at least to $ 300 per year. This will definitely reduce the corruption of interested members paying for others to obtain proxies.
4. All communities are not properly represented.- The Foundation is for all Muslims, unlike some other Masaajid which are operated by a particular community hence hence the interests of all communities should be served. This cannot be achieved unless  all the communities are represented in the organization either through  Majlis, Trustee. and heading working committees. Foe every 50 members of each community a representative can be proposed. Minimum number of members of the that community should be. 15. For example we have 160 members of Indian origin, they can have three representatives. 0 to 14 no representation, 15 to 50 one representative, 51 to 100 two representatives , 101 to 150 three  Etc. The representatives of each community will be selected by the members of that community. This way promoting membership will be on the community and electing the members of the boards will be done each community representatives This can only done through changing the existing constitution and is applicable to all the Masaajids in GTA.This method will ensure the best of each community will be represented.based on a predetermined and accepted  criteria.
   
5. Lack of strategic plan for the future of the Foundation - This is very important and has to dawn up and phased out so that change in management will hamper the progress of the Foundation. This way the progress can be monitored.
6. Talents of the youth and young professionals are not properly utilized - This is obvious and we are overlooking and missing out the future leaders
7. Lack of fear of Allah( Taqwa). - this is the foundation of leaders. Individuals should not go after postion but the position should be offered. Only thos who fear Allah practice this procedure. May Allah guide all of us to be mindful of this important quality in life so that when we meet the Creator HE will be pleased with us Insha Allah

We know most of us will be in agreement as these were discussed in detail over last few years specially after the behaviour of those who attended the last AGM .

Any further suggestions are most  certainly welcome

May Allah give is the wisdom to distinguish right from wrong and give us the courage to act by what is right.  Ameen
